Body Therapy Diploma - one year qualification - CIBTAC

      

 

The aim of the Diploma in Body Therapy Diploma is to enable Candidates to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to provide a full range of body therapy treatments. 

The qualification offers an ideal opportunity for anyone wanting to specialise in body therapy treatments.

It also provides the opportunity for Candidates to develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment in this skilled area of therapy. 

The qualification consists of five mandatory units and is equivalent to a Level Three on the Qualification and Credit Framework and a Level 4 on the European Qualification Framework

Mandatory units

First semester

Follow health and safety practice in the salon

Promote and sell products and services

Provide body electrotherapy treatments

Provide body massage treatments

Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies

Second semester

Provide aromatherapy for complementary therapies

Principles and practice for complementary therapies

Business practice for the complementary therapist 

Third semester

Provide Reflexology for complementary therapies

Customer care

Salon and business procedures

 

Optional unit

Healthy eating and wellbeing for the complementary therapies client

Students are required to provide a portfolio throughout the year.

PORTFOLIO CONTENTS SHEET 
The purpose of a portfolio is to keep in one place a record of evidence of all treatments or occasions where practice and experience of techniques and ranges for the qualification being studied, are kept.  

Assignments, case studies, additional work and homework are presented in the portfolio at the time of your exam.

CIBTAC level 3 diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology E29

Opportunities for Progression  

Once Learners have achieved this Diploma they may progress on to other qualifications at Levels 3 and 4, for example:  

Level 3 Certificate in Indian Head Massage  

Level 3 Certificate in Stone Therapy Massage 

Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies 

Level 3 Diploma in Lymphatic Drainage Massage  

Level 3 Diploma in Spa Treatments 

Level 4 Diploma in Spa and Salon Management 

Career opportunities    

This qualification enables Graduates to operate their own clinic or home visiting practice.

Graduates can also gain employment in Health Clubs, Health Farms, Company Health Clinics, Spas and Cruise Liners and various aspects of the Care Industry
