Complementary therapies diploma - one year qualification

The main aim of a complementary therapy diploma is to look at health and wellbeing in an holistic way

Anatomy, physiology and pathology is the underpinning knowledge required for all therapies and especially complementary therapies.  This course covers all the systems of the body and general pathologies looking at alternative and complementary ways to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms.

Massage has been used for thousands of years to treat and heal and bring about homeostasis, together with good nutrition and additional therapies.  Learning professional massage will give the complementary therapist a very useful therapy to use in combination with other treatments.

Reflexology has been used for centuries and is still being used in the general medical field especially to complement more allopathic treatment, and to increase recovery times after surgery.  Reflexology is taught using the Ingham method with emphasis on treating many diseases and disorders.

Diet and nutrition
The main aim Diet and Nutrition for the Complementary Therapist is to enable Learners to provide healthy eating advice for their clients whom they already treat for another therapy for the purpose of improving health and lifestyle .

This program include macro, micro nutrients, healthy eating plans, using food to support health and to increase wellbeing.

Students are required to have practice clients and create a portfolio of assignments and case studies and additional work

Bach Flower remedies

Dr Edward Bach discovered bringing emotions into balance, helped the physical body to heal.  He developed this system to be used for every day emotional upsets as well as during traumatic situations.

“The action of the flower essences raises the vibration of the being…. They cure by flooding the body with the beautiful vibrations of the highest nature – in whose presence there is the opportunity for disease to melt away like snow in sunshine”

Students learn about each of the 38 remedies and rescue remedy.  How they are made, the same way that Dr Edward Bach made them, even today.  How to use them and also when to offer them to others.

I have found Bach Flowers are a very valuable asset to everyone in the complementary therapy field as bringing the emotions into balance, allows the person to let go of what is not part of the bigger issue, as emotional states affect our health and wellbeing far more than we often realise.  This allows the true essence of health issues to be shown providing a better start to the healing process.

Colour therapy - aura soma - you are the colours you choose

Colour has a very profound impact on our being, as we are hu-mans

Bringing together colour with crystals and aromatherapy this part of the complementary therapy diploma is very exciting as it brings together many aspects of all that we are, spiritual and physical beings
